John Osterhout, RN

John became a nursing instructor at PMCI in 2012. He served with the United States Army as a Combat Medical Corpsman (91B2P). As a Vietnam Veteran he participated in operations with the 82nd and 173rd Airborne (Sept). He became decorated and Honorably discharged in 1972. John graduated from Santa Monica College with an Associates Degree in Life Science. He then attended the Santa Monica College Registered Nursing Program in 1976. He has since worked ICU/ER at Northern Inyo Hospital in Bishop, California and as a Staff Nurse, supervisor for the Cardio Vascular Thoracic ICU/PACH, Operating Room Nurse, Procedure Center and Ambulatory Care Clinics at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. John has also instructed nursing students at Charter College. He enjoys mentoring the next generation of medical care professionals. John was awarded PMCI Teacher of the Year by the Vocational Nursing class 2013.
